Child Safety Seat Checkpoint in Fayetteville

Posted: Updated:

Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office are making sure child safety seats are installed correctly.  Sheriff Mike Fridley and two child passenger safety technicians are set up at the Fayetteville Walmart from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to help anyone who needs to learn the proper way to install a car seat.  The service is being provided free of charge.

"They will answer any questions concerning child safety and will show you the proper way to install your child's safety seat," said Sheriff Fridley.  "It's not necessarily as simple as it may seem, and they will show you the right way."

Parents are encouraged to bring their vehicle/safety seat by to let a certified child safety seat technician check to make sure the seat is installed properly.
