Suspect: Joyce Lusk faces 160 fraud charges for allegedly stealing from an elderly person under her care.
Police in Rainelle arrested a women who is accused of stealing from an elderly patient. Joyce Lusk was the caregiver for the victim. She allegedly forged more than 30 checks and stole a credit card, racking up more than $10,000 in charges. Rainelle Police Chief, J.P. Stevens said it's the amount of money taken that made this case unique.
"I've seen them steal checks and I've seen them do this, but this one here puts icing on the cake," said Chief Stevens. "This was a pretty good bust on this one. We never have had that much. The total equaled up to approximately $17,000 worth of money she spent."
Police said Lusk used the money to pay her own bills and buy gifts for her family She is facing 160 felony counts. She is being held on a $10,000 bond.
