Fire in Bluefield sends two people to the hospital

Crews from the Bluefield Fire Department were called to the scene of a house fire during the evening hours of Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017.  It happened at 2112 Princeton Ave at around 9 :30 p.m. It was put out by 11:30 p.m. 

There were two people taken to Bluefield Regional Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.  They were not firefighters and their names have not been released. Firefighters said the house is not inhabitable and Bluefield Code Enforcement was notified.  

Firefighters from Bluefield, VA and Green Valley assisted in putting out the fire. There is no word on what caused the fire, but it is being investigated.
