Shots ring out as a woman roars away from a traffic stop in Princeton on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017.  It began at around 11 a.m. when Mercer County Sheriff's Deputies pulled over a green van on Mercer St.  The stop happened near the Mercer School.

According to investigators, there was a man driving the van and a woman in the back. The man, who has not been identified, got out of the vehicle but the woman refused.  Witnesses said deputies were heard telling the woman to lower a weapon.  Officials confirmed they later found a gun that was not loaded.

During the traffic stop, the woman was able to get into the driver's seat and drive away.  Deputies opened fire to try and disable the van.  That lead to a police chase which ended on Bluestone Road where she crashed into a house.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Hope White. Deputies said they also found drugs in the vehicle. White is facing a variety of charges in connection with the incident.
