The West Virginia Medical Institute has been awarded a new five-state Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization contract from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The contract took effect Aug. 1 and will have the institute working in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Louisiana to engage providers and the community in initiatives to improve patient safety, reduce harm and improve clinical care.
Other network partners are WVMI's affiliated companies, Quality Insights of Pennsylvania and Quality Insights of Delaware, Healthcare Quality Strategies Inc. and eQHealth Solutions.
“Bringing together the collective experiences, skills and relationships of these experienced and committed organizations gives us a tremendous opportunity to positively impact health care in our five states,” said John Wiesendanger, Quality Insights CEO. “We look forward to offering the best aspects of a networked approach with hands-on, local involvement and assistance.”
