The employees of GreenWood Inc., an integrated maintenance, operations and construction solutions provider, recently celebrated 3 million safe hours at its West Virginia Operations project in South Charleston.

The milestone was marked after 12 years of continuous operations supporting multiple clients in both the chemical and petro-chemical industries without a lost-time event.

More than 300 people attended the safety celebration hosted by GreenWood. President Brad Wood presented the operation team with a plaque commemorating the milestone. Wood also worked as pit-master of the event, providing a home-cooked barbecue dinner for attendees as well as handing out jackets to employees as a gesture of appreciation.

“On the surface, safety can seem like a simple concept, but it has to be a priority every day,” Wood said. “We work very hard to train all employees at every level to perform safely and continuously maintain that kind of mindset.

“We are proud to achieve these performance results and appreciate the effort everyone puts forth to emphasize safety first.”
