MISSING: Search continues in Monroe County for Timmy Ray Vernon

 Police and firefighters from West Virginia and Virginia are searching for a man who has been lost in the woods of Monroe County since Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014.

Timmy Ray Vernon, 22, was last seen in the Trout Run area near Waiteville, WV at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.  Crews from multiple agencies have been rotating shifts to try and find Vernon.  The area they are looking for him is around Potts Mountain with is close to the Craig County, VA line.  The weather has prevented the use of aircraft in the search, but the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is hoping that the rain will clear enough on Tuesday, Aug. 11 to allow aircraft to fly.

Vernon is 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.  The has blue eyes and was wearing blue jeans, a greenish/turquoise t-shirt, a hat and boots.  Anyone with information on Vernon's location is asked to call 540-897-5200 or Monroe County 911.

Agencies participating in the search include the DNR Tracking Team, West Virginia State Police, Mercer County K9 units, Allegheny County K9 units, Union Fire Department, Paint Bank Fire Department and Boiling Springs Fire Department.
