After police say Brandon Coomes set a building on fire in Matoaka leaving nothing but rubble behind, the town of Matoaka is now scrambling to figure out what to do next."It's very bad on the community and all the businesses around here..it hurts us bad," Jackie Akers of Matoaka said.Today a few men started to remove some of the rubble to get a start on the process.Including clean up and efforts to put the fire out the fire did about $4,000,000 in damage. Michael Black, of Matoaka, told me this is the last thing Matoaka needed."This town was trying to be revitalized..and this was just a huge setback," Black said.Despite the devastation, some people have found a bright side to such a heartbreaking story."You know it may bring some jobs when it's time to rebuild..at least for a little while.but it stops almost everything," Michael Black said.
Officials say clean up could take months, but rebuilding may take years.
