Jerry Lewallen was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 7 in connection with a security system scam.
State Troopers from the detachment in Rainelle, WV have arrested a man for taking advantage of the elderly, and they believe he may have more victims who have not come forward.
Jerry Lewallen, 60, is charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretenses and Crimes Against the Elderly. He was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. Troopers said that Lewallen approached potential customers about buying a security system. According to a release, Lewallen would take money from the victims, but would not return to install the equipment.
Troopers said that Lewallen had a similar scam involving the sale of vacuum cleaners. Investigators believe Lewallen was doing this is several counties, including Fayette and Greenbrier. Lewallen is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
Lewallen also goes by the name Jerry Lee Allen, and troopers believe that there may be more victims of Lewallen that have not yet come forward. Victims and anyone with information on the scam are asked to contact Cpl. D.M. McMillan at the Rainelle Detachment by calling 304-438-3000.
