Charleston Mayor Danny Jones and Charleston City Council are considering an additional sales tax for the city of Charleston. Their justification is that revenue is needed to pay for increased cost of running the city, specifically the pension funding cost. It is yet another example of putting the health of government above the health of the people. This is unfair to people who have to do without food and other essentials of life because government wants more money. Government needs to cut back, way back. Let's start putting the people first not the government.
