The Shinnston City Park gave a few inner city kids a different kind of experience Saturday.
The park hosted its annual Fresh Air Fund Day Saturday afternoon. The fund brings kids from New York City neighborhoods to A rural area like West Virginia to experience a different way of life.
Organizers of the event say there's one big difference between life in the country and their regular experience.
"They don't have to be afraid to play after dark, they don't have to be afraid of the host family's dogs or anything," said Robert Eubank, from the Fresh Air Fund. "They're in totally safe environments. The one thing that they are most afraid of is the dark."
Some kids at the park today have been coming to the same home for ten years.
