Morgantown WV Teen Convicted of Skylar Neese's Murder to Be Transferred to Women's Prison

Monongalia County Circuit Judge Russell Clawges ruled Wednesday, June 4 to move Rachel Shoaf, 17, to an adult facility.  Shoaf pleaded guilty in January 2014 to stabbing Skylar Neese to death in July 2012 , along with co-conspirator Shelia Eddy.

Judge Clawges also denied Shoaf's motion for a reduced or modified sentence.  Shoaf will turn 18 this week and will be transferred to an adult facility when a bed becomes available.  

Shoaf's co-conspirator, Eddy, is incarcerated at the Lakin Correctional Center, a women's prison near Point Pleasant.

One of the teens convicted of killing Skylar Neese is scheduled to be back in court this week.

Rachel Shoaf admitted to stabbing Neese to death with Shelia Eddy in July 2012.

Shoaf began serving her 30 year sentence in a juvenile detention facility. She will soon be 18 years of age and could be transferred to the state’s correctional facility for women.

Eddy is currently serving her sentence there. Judge Russell Clawges will hear the motion on Thursday.
