16 Immigrants Officially Become United States Citizens in Clarksburg
A naturalization ceremony was held in Clarksburg on Friday.
In the ceremony 16 former immigrants became United States citizens.
The newest citizens came from the United Kingdom, Canada, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, South Korea and elsewhere.
They took an oath and received their certificates, after going through a lot of work to get there.
“It does take a very long time to learn the language, and to pass the written part of the test. It is a very difficult process. Our new American citizens today I guarantee you know more about our government than most of us do,” said Irene Keeley, the United States District Judge who presided over the ceremony.
The new citizens also received gifts including American flags and pins.
