Tesla Motors Opens First 'Supercharger' in the State of West Virginia at The Highlands
Electric car maker Tesla Motors has opened its first supercharger station in the state of West Virginia at The Highlands.
The superchargers are located at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Wheeling along I-70, just off Exit 10.
The chargers support free travel for Tesla drivers traveling between Columbus, Pittsburgh, and the east coast. Tesla reports that the superchargers are located between city centers to enable free long-distance travel with the Model S car. Drivers can plug in and replenish half of their battery capacity in as little as twenty minutes.
Tesla superchargers have powered Model S vehicles with over 15 million miles of range, saving more than 600,000 gallons of gas.
