A Randolph County man deemed competent to stand trial for murder was in court again on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say a judge has set a date for August 7 to hear from experts on whether Newlon is criminally responsible.
Once that's been determined, a trial date will be scheduled.

Theodore Newlon, 82, is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Dora Newlon, in 2012.
Prosecutors called a witness who completed an evaluation on Newlon.
A status hearing has been set for July to determine when the trial will begin.
