More Snow Moving Into The Virginias

While many of us are still digging out from the last powerful storm that dumped more than a foot of snow across the area, Mother Nature is once again taking aim at the Virginias.
A fast-moving Alberta Clipper system will move into the region late Friday night into Saturday, beginning first as rain but quickly transitioning to snow.
Temperatures will also rapidly fall below freezing, so expect additional travel troubles on roadways due to black ice.
Total snow accumulations will range from 2 to 6 inches by Saturday morning, with the highest amounts on the western facing slopes of Greenbrier, Pocahontas and Summers Counties.
Snow showers will wrap up by lunchtime on Saturday, but cold temperatures stick around through the end of the weekend with highs struggling to even reach 30 degrees on Saturday.
A brief flurry or light snow shower will also be possible on Sunday as a weak low-pressure center slides by to our north, but little or no accumulation is expected.
