Captain Fred Burroughs was killed in the Little General explosion in Ghent on January 30th, 2007.
The Cranberry Creek Bridge on the East Beckley By-pass was named in his honor.
"The dedication and naming of the bridge is such an honor for Fred, our family is very humbled that this bridge has been named for him. It's an exciting time to be able to celebrate that with our friends and family," Fred's wife, Hazel Burroughs told 59News.
Burroughs was a 33-year veteran of the Ghent Volunteer Fire Department.
