Man Arrested In Connection to Marion County Meth Lab
The Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Fairmont Police Department responded to a report of a possible meth lab explosion Thursday.
Marion County 911 said crews were called to the scene of an incident that occurred on Shady Lane around 4:15 p.m.
The sheriff's department said initial reports indicated an explosion, but said there was no evidence that an explosion occurred once crews were at the scene. A hazmat team trained to handle meth labs arrived at the scene and confirmed that there was a working meth lab.
At the house, law enforcement discovered multiple firearms in the bedroom belonging to Timothy Sheppard, 37, according to a criminal complaint. The Fairmont Police Department charged Sheppard with being a felon in a possession of a firearm. Sheppard has a felony conviction for breaking and entering from 1995. He is also facing meth related charges. He's being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
The investigation is being handled by the Drug Enforcement Agency, Fairmont Police, and the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
