The West Virginia football team has had its share of up and downs this season and their record now sits at 3-3.

The Mountaineers entered Saturday's game off a big win against #11 Oklahoma State. But, the good feelings didn't last long as they fell in an embarrassing 73-42 loss to a ranked Baylor squad.

WVU has a bye week this week but will host #20 Texas Tech on October 19th. As of now, the Red Raiders are undefeated.

Game 4 of the heated playoff series between the Cardinals and the Pirates was Monday.

The Pirates led the best of 5 game series 2-1 entering the game against St. Louis. A strong performance from the Cardinals 22 year old pitcher Michael Wacha who almost pitched a no hitter in their 2-1 win over the Buccos.

In the post-game press conference Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle talked about Wacha's destruction.

"We weren't able to get anyone on to get any motion created. That is some kind of post-season outing for a man in his first post-season game.>

This is the first time the Buccos have made it to the playoffs in 21 years.
