A Braxton County jury convicted Michael York on murder, conspiracy, and firearm charges on September 20. The jury didn't recommend mercy, resulting in Judge Jack Alsop sentencing York to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Judge Alsop sentenced York to 40 years for the second degree murder of Lamar Coates; to life in prison for the first degree murders of Dustin Brown and Denise Coates; to five years for being a felon in possession of a firearm; up to five years for concealment of a body; and up to five years for conspiracy to conceal a body, said Webster County Prosecuting Attorney Dwayne Vandevender.
The jury also found Amanda York guilty of three counts of voluntary manslaughter and one count of conspiracy to conceal a deceased body in connection with the case. She'll be sentenced November 1 at 9 a.m., said Vandevender.
