The September term of the Raleigh County grand jury wrapped up late last week. On Tuesday the list of indictments was released.
Some high profile cases were heard by the grand jury, including a man who attempted to run down a law enforcement officer and a pair of men who attacked women in two separate cases.
Topping the list of indictments was Alfred Pittman who is accused of First Degree Robbery, Burglary, Malicious Wounding, Kidnapping, Conspiracy and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The charges stem from an incident in Beckley. Pittman allegedly attacked Shannon Wilson at her apartment.
Michael Wafford was also indicted on a Malicious Wounding charge. The grand jury indicted him for Attempted First Degree Murder, Domestic Assault and Destruction of Property as well. Wafford was arrested for stabbing James Tate Jr. at the Plaza Mall in Beckley. Tate had escorted Wafford from Harvey's salon after Wafford reportedly threatened his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
Dylan Morgan was arrested late last year a manhunt that lead to a Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputy being injured. He was indicted by the grand jury on a charge of attempted first degree murder. Morgan had been on home confinement and escaped. During the manhunt Morgan allegedly tried to run over Lt. Randy Burgess.
