New details are released Monday afternoon in the drowning of a man at Sherwood Lake in Greenbrier County.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources say Luke Hess, 40, of Bradley was fishing Saturday night with another person. At around 8 p.m., a storm hit the area.
DNR Officials tell 59News when Hess and the other passenger tried to make their ways to safety, the boat they were riding in flipped when Hess reached to retrieve an oar that had fallen overboard.
The passenger was able to get to shore and for help. Hess' body was found later.
The Division of Natural Resources is handling the investigation.
