The 2013 Greenbrier Classic was one for the record books, big names fell short, weather caused some controversy and a new champion was crowned.  Here are the top 5 memorable moments from the tournament.

 #5 SEAN PAYTON CADDIE CAMEO

From NFL head football coach to a PGA golf tour caddie, New Orleans Saints Sean Payton was Ryan Palmer's right hand man.  Though Palmer did not a touchdown performance, he still broke even on the week.

#4 PHIL MICKELSON FAILED TO MAKE CUT

Fan favorite Phil Mickelson finished the first two rounds +2 and for the third year missed the cut into the weekend. The Classic is the first tournament in his career that he missed 3 consecutive cuts.

#3 TOM WATSON SHOWS RESPECT TO SERVICE MEMBERS

Greenbrier Pro-Emeritus Tom Watson is 63 years old and still hangs with "young guys" as he calls them.   But, the respect he shows to the service men and women at the tournament was profound and while he didn't come out on the top of your leaderboard finishing -4, he did come out on top for class.

 #2 WEATHER WOES

The Old White quickly turned into the Old Wet, as a storm delayed play for 3 hours and 10 minutes.  It resumed at 5p.m. when leader Johnson Wagner was rushed to finish all 18 holes before dark.  The controversial call to have the leaders finish their rounds all on Sunday made for one heated Hokie.

 #1 BLIXT BLITZED TO WIN

Jonas Blixt the Swedish golfer emerged from the pack and took the tournament by 2 strokes. It was the second PGA tour win for Blixt who celebrated in the dark as he showed off the iconic Springhouse trophy.
