Just a short walk from The Greenbrier Resort, empty backyards and lots were turned into parking spots, big enough for all incoming golf fans. Most of the parking lots were right in White Sulphur Springs within a few blocks of the resort.
The idea became so popular that locals began competing for customers by lowering prices. One lot, called Prestige Parking, has decided to provide customers a complementary bottle of water in hopes of bringing in more cars. Prices ranged from $10 a car all the way to $20 per car.
Locals say they plan to use the money for personal use such as fixing up houses or school projects.
