Football Announces Summer Camp Dates

Posted: Updated:
ATHENS, W.Va. -

The Concord University football program has announced plans to host three camps this summer for high school players and teams. A player's camp will be conducted June 23-25 while a 7-on-7 Passing Tournament and a Big-Man Skills Clinic will both be held on June 26.

The Players Camp is for boys in grades 6-12 and is designed to give each attendee the opportunity to learn from the Mountain Lion coaching staff, as they teach each player the fundamentals they'll need to improve their skills and become better football players. Players will be able to work out at their respective positions and gain significant knowledge to take back to their high school teams. Cost of the camp is $180 for those wishing to stay overnight and $150 for commuters.

The 7-on-7 passing tournament will be held at Concord University for local high schools to come in and compete in 7-on- 7 passing games. The cost to compete in the tournament is $100 per team.

While the skill-position players are competing in passing games, former West Virginia University All- American offensive lineman, and current Concord University Head Football Coach, Garin Justice will be putting offensive and defensive lineman through the Big- Man Skills clinic. Cost of the Big-Man Clinic is $10 per lineman.

All three camps are great opportunities for high school athletes to compete, have fun, and be evaluated by college football coaches.

To enroll in any of the camps contact assistant coach John Pennington by e-mail at coachpennington@concord.edu, or via phone at 304-384-6309.

It's really difficult to explain how BIG of a night it's going to be in Fayetteville this Friday. The undefeated Oak Hill Red Devils (4-0) travel north to battle the also undefeated Fayetteville Pirates (4-0) on Friday September 22nd at 7:30 at Fletcher Arritt Stadium.  As if two undefeated rivals wasn't enough, the game is also Homecoming Night for Fayetteville High School.
