ATHENS, W.Va. -

Senior forward Damien Tunstalle earned Second Team All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors Monday when the league office handed out its end of the year awards.

Tunstalle has had a career-year in his final season wearing the Maroon and Gray. He has started 22 of Concord's 26 games and is averaging 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from three-point range and 75.0 percent at the foul line.

The Beckley, W. Va. native currently ranks fourth in the league in three-pointers made (74), 13th in scoring, 14th in defensive rebounds (4.23 drpg), and 20th in total rebounding.

Tunstalle has had a number of dynamic offensive performances this season with the highlight being a 35-point game against Shepherd on Feb. 9 in which Tunstalle made nine three-pointers and hit the game-winner for Concord with just seconds left to play in the contest. For the year, he has scored at least 20 points in a game seven times.

Tunstalle, who has three double-doubles on the season, needs to score just five more points in Concord's remaining postseason games to become the 33rd player in CU history to break the 1,000 career-points barrier.

Concord finished the 2012-13 regular season 16-10 overall and 12-10 in the WVIAC. The Mountain Lions will host Pitt-Johnstown in a first round WVIAC Tournament contest 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the Carter Center.

West Liberty's Alex Falk and Jim Crutchfield were named the league's Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, while Justin Fritts of Wheeling Jesuit earned WVIAC Freshman of the Year accolades.
