Concord's Amanda Smith Earns Honorable Mention All-WVIAC Honors

Junior guard Amanda Smith was named to the All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Team, the league office announced Sunday. Smith was an honorable mention All-WVIAC selection.

Smith had a career-year in 2012-13, starting 27 games and averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She shot 44.8 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from the free throw line. Smith ranked 14th in the conference in scoring, 12th in free throw percentage and 15th in field goal percentage.

The Princeton, W. Va. native scored at least 16 points in a game 13 times including a career-high 30 points against West Virginia Tech on Nov. 11.

West Liberty's Hillary Southworth was named the conference's Player of the Year. Jasmine Harper of Pitt-Johnstown was the conference's Freshman of the Year and Glenville State's Bunky Harkleroad was voted the WVIAC's Coach of the Year.

Concord opens WVIAC Tournament play 7:00 p.m. Monday at Seton Hill.
