BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -

Virginia Tech cornerback Antone Exum says he will return to school for his senior season.

The school announced Wednesday that Exum informed the coaching staff of his decision.

Exum led the Hokies with five interceptions this season. He was one of three underclassmen to submit his name to the NFL draft advisory board, joined quarterback Logan Thomas and defensive end James Gayle. He's the first to announce his decision.

Players planning to declare for the draft must do so by next Tuesday.

Exum switched this season from safety to cornerback and developed into the Hokies best cover cornerback. He earned All-ACC second team honors from both the coaches and the media.
