As part of The Greenbrier's second annual Winterfest, a special group of athletes were carving some ice of their own.
West Virginia's only synchronized ice skating team put on a show at a skating rink set up on one of the resorts lawns Jan. 8.
The ice skaters consisted of children and teenagers, one skating couple has even won a gold medal at a national competition.
Director Vicky Robb said it's a great sport for people of all ages.
"It's a sport that once you learn it's kind of like riding a bike, you can always do it," said Robb.
The competitions and performances were free and open to the public.
Ice skating lessons were also available for anyone interested after the show, the lessons were taught by non-other than the ice skating team.
